Have just finished reading this book all about Elizabeth I and her early life, from when she was a little girl and her mother Anne Boleyn was executed right up until she succeeded her sister Mary to the throne.
I have to say I thought this book was absolutely fantastic! One of the best Tudor novels I have read - its right up there in the rankings with The Other Boleyn girl I think. Its really exciting and I was quite sad to finish it.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about Elizabeth, or Tudor novels in general. I felt transported back to the 16th century and made me wish I could get a time machine and just go back just for the day
Today I bought The White Queen by Phillipa Gregory - it only came out last week and I was determined to wait until it came out in paperback, but I just could resist it - and luckily when I got my credit card statement the other day I had paid too much and ended up being £10 in credit, so I treated myself Will let you know how it goes

Oooh one to watch out for!! The boys bought The Other Boleyn Girl for me on holiday as an early birthday present when we went to Penrhyn Castle and I 've finished it earlier in the week. I just couldn't put it down. I think I read most of it on holiday and it was an absolute joy to find a book that I really enjoyed reading cos I'm difficult when it comes to books _________________ Melody's blog

I haven't read this yet (but do have it) and I got The White Queen yesterday in Borders as it was half price I'm reading the Blossom Street books atm - only 2 to go - and the Shopaholic ones too I know they're a bit daft but they're nice and light. _________________ Ali xxx |

I got mine for half price in Sussex Stationers as well - I dont think I could actually face paying the full price of £18.99 for a novel that only lasts a few days
Debs - if you liked TOBG - you should try more PG books - they are on the whole really really good The Constant Princess is a fave of mine, also The Other Queen |

I read this a while back, it's fantastic, isn't it? Have you read her novel about Lady Jane Grey, Innocent Traitor? That's a good read as well.
My mum bought The White Queen from Amazon.co.uk and I'm waiting for her to finish reading it before I borrow it. _________________ "I can resist everything except temptation" - Oscar Wilde.
