That is lovely, I am so tempted by that book after seeing all the lovely socks these last few months. Can't help with the pattern question though,

That's looking great! What's the yarn? Very pretty colours Very Happy

I have the book, but I haven't made any of the socks from it yet. I think the patterns are "mix and match", designed so you learn lots of heel/toe/sock knitting techniques, so I reckon you can put in whatever heel you like. My philosophy (as I say a lot Rolling Eyes ) is that patterns are just guidelines for us to use to create something wonderful that's unique and completely our own Very Happy

That sock looks lovely. I've got SKS too and I'm very tempted with that pattern after seeing yours looking so nice.

Isn't that lovely..the yarn works so well with that pattern! I have never done a forethrough heel...if it were me I'd just do my usual slipped stitch heel flap and pick up for the gusset! Laughing

It is looking fab, I would just do my normal heel, I am so unadventurous when it comes to heels

No idea about the heel, but I love your sock! The yarn really suits the pattern Smile I really must get round to reading my copy of SKS at some point.

That's a lovely bright yarn and it looks great in that pattern Smile
The forethought heel gives you a lovely bullseye of concentric circles so if you are usig a self striping yarn it flows round nicely rather than the "jumps"^ you get with a heel flap and gusset, i used it on my Zebra socks and it fits really nicely as well as looking good Smile

^can't think of the right word, but i hope you know what i mean Confused
ps did you post to Sockknitters with the same question?? If you did i answered you there too Very Happy
