I saw some of this in town today. It looks really pretty, and good value too.
I can think of a number of uses for this

I was looking at this earlier on e-bay - there are a few shawls (and other items) knitted in it on Ravelry.

Its another reasonably priced stripey sock yarn (I do like self striping stuff if no one had noticed ) _________________ Cazzie |

I've just made some socks from this. It has beautiful colours and a sight sheen to it but......it is splitty and rather loosley twisted so the socks are already pilling and I've only worn them twice!! _________________ www.spin-a-yarn.blogspot.com - my personal blog

It looks nice but it's a bit worrying if it pills so quickly _________________ Ali xxx |

that's not good Strange though, because Regia yarns are usually so good and hardwearing! Wonder whether it's true of that particular range of yarn overall or whether you just got a bad batch _________________

The makeup of this yarn is completely different to their regulat yarn. It is made up of a very loosly twisted centre core which is the coloured bit. It is then plied with a very thin black strand of nylon-ish stuff (technical term LOL) as thin as sewing cotton which gets caught in the needles to cause the splitting.
I would definately use it for a shawl or something not hard wearing - but not for socks. I made 2 pairs - 1 in the green colourway and one in the pink/fushia colourway and they are both the same. They are also baggy as this yarn doesnt have much spring to it.
Verdict - beautiful yarn but not a sock yarn IMHO
I will put a photo on my blog so you can see it knitted up, but the photo is before wearing. _________________ www.spin-a-yarn.blogspot.com - my personal blog
