Pattern: My Own
Yarn: Sweet Georgia Speed Demon in Shade River
Amount used: Have a bit left from a 100g skein
Needles: 3.25mm Crystal Palace Bamboo dpns
Notions: 3 stitch markers, row counter
Modifications: Cast on 50 stitches using the folded picot edge method here; follow standard basic sock pattern.
I have never been so utterly disappointed in a yarn as I am in Sweet Georgia and I cannot see what all the fuss is about (if you dont know, SG is taking a year out and her yarns sell for crazy amounts on ebay). I found the quality of the yarn very poor, and considering it is meant to be 100% merino, it almost seemed like there was some acrylic mixed in with it. It was frustrating to knit with as there were a lot of fibres that seemed to separate and it was very splitty. The colours are not even that much to write home about. Can you tell I really, really dont like it? My advice - save your money and buy some Posh Yarn Helena or Yarn Yard Organic Merino instead. I also struggled to get these socks to fit correctly but wont bore you with the details. I'm just glad I managed to trade all but one skein of my Sweet Georgia away but I'm sure these socks will still come in handy

I think the colours are very pretty, but I can understand your disappointment it doesn't sound like you have had a very good experience with the yarn at all.

They look like good socks PL, shame that the yarn wasn't all that it was reputed to be. I only have a pink skein which I haven't tried yet. I hope they are lovely to wear
I love her weaving though.................it is tempting me to have a go _________________ " Onen i-Estel Edain, U-chebin estel anim"

The socks look lovely! such a shame you didn't enjoy working with the yarn, maybe that's oneof the reasons your mojo took a hike? At least they're finished now and you have a lovely pair of handknit socks. _________________ Claire

They look fab, PL! I love that picot edge you use.
Sorry you didn't enjoy the yarn though. I've suffered major "Yarn Disappointment" before, and I sympathise.
