....and I mean making my Christmas cake and socks for November! I baked this morning and kitchenered the toe as soon as the cake went in the oven.
Talk about cutting things fine, the cake would normally have been finished at least a month ago and as for the socks? Well last Sunday, I asked Mum if she had any idea what Dad would like for Christmas. Straight away, she said he wanted some more of my socks but in dark grey this time. Yippee, size 10.5's in dark grey, how exciting but still, I love my Dad and if that's what he wants, then that's what he shall have. It won't be his only present, I've still to fathom that one out, but I have cast on for another pair in some Opal which does have a grey theme, but there's a natty splash of purple in there too, far more interesting. Two pairs down the line I shall feel even more happy. These grey ones look a bit big on my size 6.5 sock blockers, but there you go, at least they're done.
I can now go back to my comfy chair with a large mug of tea and a spot of knitting whilst breathing in the lovely Christmasy smell from my baking.
Details Woolcraft Superwash Sock Yarn, shade 4474, magic looped on 2.75mm circular

I think that picture is really good and homely and just lovely. Nice looking cake and even though the socks are long and grey, I am sure your Dad will be really chuffed because they look great. |

Well it made grey socks look a little more interesting I wish I could keep this smell always, much nicer than air fresheners!
Yes, Dads are special, so no matter how big the foot/leg, I'd still make them if that's what was wanted. I rather like the Opal ones I've started for him, I'll post a progress picture on Monday.
Have a lovely weekend all

Nothing says "I love you" like a pair of man-sized socks! Your dad will chuffed to bits with those. _________________ My Blog: Put a Sock in it |

Those are lovely socks for your Dad. I'm sure he's going to love his Christmas pressie. The cake looks very yummy too!
