Here's the first skein of my Water Lily handspun. It weighs about 30g, so I've got 70g left still to spin. This skein still has a lot of uneven stuff at the start as I was very new when I began it, but I have got much more consistent and I'm happy with the colour changes and the thickness I achieved. I've started again with the next batch using the spindle and I am faster and more consistent again now, which is good.
I thought it might make a nice leaf lace shawlette, what do you think? The colours are a bit more intense IRL

That is lovely, the colours are spot on aren't they
assuming that the inspiration is the waterlillies by monet??
i think whatever you make from it will be stunning to be perfectly honest, beautiful yarn such as that couldn't possibly make anything ugly! _________________

Thank you! I'm enjoying spinning it and am starting to have a desire to try knitting with it.
I hadn't thought of Monet's Waterlilies franney, but I looked and you are right, the colours match perfectly. Maybe I can find some waterlily lace LOL _________________

Carol, that's wonderful I am so impressed. Workshops are wonderful things, aren't they.
It's strange isn't it, having been on a spinning workshop I have absolutely no desire to spin at all. Whatsoever! But I am pleased I scratched the itch so to speak. _________________

That is strange, Joy
I'm completely obsessed by spinning at the moment
More seriously, I agree with you that it's good to try different things and because we are all different, some of them are just right for some people and not for others. But it's good to try either way. _________________

You may recall that I was in no great hurry to spin on a wheel again after my two-hour lesson last August.
By March I had begun to think again, and by Easter Day I had my own wheel!
I guess the time just wasn't right before.
