Shall I start the ball rolling?

I've been thinking about this since Linz mentioned it last night - well obviously I've slept..........   Wink

I've popped over to Ravelry and counted 35 FO's this year. Mostly they are small items, only four are adult garments, three of which I don't wear Embarassed My knitting habits have changed drastically this year.

I've knitted 12 FCS's, one of which I have kept for me, the others have been gifted or auctioned for charity. I've also knitted eight pairs of Cranford Mitts. I have two pairs, again the others have been gifted. I enjoy knitting for people who appreciate being knitted for Wink

I've also managed seven pairs of socks Shocked This time last year socks were anathema to me, so seven pairs is a real achievement.

So, given all that, what to choose  Confused

I'm choosing a pair of socks as my favourite knit of 2008. I was wearing these yesterday. To be fair, they aren't the best pair of socks that I have knitted, but they were a landmark for me. This was the first time I looked at a pattern for something else and thought "I wonder if this would work?" and with a little adaptation of Jane's excellent pattern, Cranford Socks resulted.

Ravelry Link

They don't bear close inspection - but they don't wrinkle down either Wink

It was a Fyberspates sock yarn Ali - I bought it at Wonderwool Wales.

Is it the yon at the beginning of the row that's pesky? You have to approach it slightly differently coming underneath the needle.

Thank you btw Very Happy

These are lovely. I have tried socks and just can't get the hang of it...it's on my to do for this year.

You are clever adapting a pattern to suit i wouldn't have a clue.
