On Christmas Eve I wrote a list of things I'm going to knit for gifts next year. I try to plan early, so I can do them a bit by bit around the year and avoid the November gift knitting rush.

I usually try to choose a theme. This year I made shawls and scarves. Next year I'm going to knit dishcloths (inspired by the swap!) and try to make handmade soaps to give with them. I was inspired by n's soap book link and I got a Finnish book on the same subject from the library. I think soap making might be interesting.
Dishcloths are quick to make and I can use up my cotton stash. I don't knit cotton, because I like wool better, so I'm happy to get rid of cottons.

Goodness that's very organised. Sounds like an excellent plan though.

Soap is on my list for January because I've run out of handmade stuff and I prefer it to shop-soap.

I'm with you there Hanne  Very Happy   And not just with knitted gifts either.  I didn't get any handmade cards done this year - I had the designs all mapped out, but just ran out of time.

I successfully manage and implement projects at work - and I'm applying the same principle for Thingmas 08  Very Happy

The knitted washcloths and homemade soap sound a great idea.
