|
|
Well, I've got a terrific pain between my shoulder blades from being hunched over my sewing machine all evening. Ouch. I've managed to put in my zipped pocket - it's far from perfect - first time I've done a zip - but I'm quite pleased with it. It works anyway. I just demonstrated the magic of the pocket to my OH - who played along nicely with my daft game!
I used my 'zipper foot' for the first time - that worked well - I managed to sew nice and close to the edge and only went wonky in one spot when I stupidly forgot to put the foot back down before I started sewing - oops. I didn't get the opening end into the opening far enough (I'll put a photo up tomorrow if I get a chance) so it's a bit dodgy. I think all the interfacing didn't help.
I was going to put some small pockets on the other side for crochet hooks/pens but have decided against it. I now want to minimise the risk of messing it up! I might make a separate little 'roll up' pouch thingy in the same fabric I've used for the lining.

Well done - sounds quite an acheivement!
A needle roll sounds like a fab idea - less chance of broken & bent needles that way too!

I'm happy with it - although I can see how I can do it better next time. Tomorrow I need to fit the 'snap' close thingy and sew the lining into the bag and then get OH to help me put the eyelet things in - bought some at hobbycraft today with a little gadget for putting them in - looks a bit tricky though so plenty of opportunities to mess it up yet haha! _________________ Sharon |
