Oooo - my grandma taught me how to darn years ago - and after all these years it might come in handy She would be proud!

Aww, love you too! I did remember you posting up about holey socks, but didn't want to name and shame you
It is very useful isn't it? Oi, Mods?! Perhaps you could make this thread a Sticky please? So we can easily find it again when our socks get holey?
Thank you _________________

Sticky it is.
Personally I always thought the best way to darn socks was to study the hole very carefully, say "Oh darn!" and then go out and buy yarn to make a shiny new pair _________________ Jacquie

Thanks Jacquie!
LOL at your approach to it - I think I shall definitely use that one too from time to time _________________

A really useful video if you've got a mushroom. Any bright ideas what to use as an alternative or how to get your hands on one? Mushroom that is. _________________

I used to use my mushroom mainly to sew on brownie/guide/cub/scout badges. It was just right to keep the badge in place on the fabric. I think I got it at an antique/collectibles fair. I don't have it now - can't think what happened to it.
