I wasn't actually looking for a new obsession you understand. No, what I was doing was trying to cram another bag of cast-off jeans (some day I'll tell you about my denim stash) into the top of a wardrobe. And then I spotted it - the patchwork cushion I started for my sister when she was expecting my nephew (he'll be 17 next month )
Well, I thought, I don't need that any more and got it down to throw away. But it only needed 10 more pieces sewn on, so that wouldn't take long would it? And it was lovely fabric. So an hour later the cushion cover is complete.
And I've got itchy fingers and my mind's working overtime.
A visit to my Dad's allowed me an opportunity to rootle through some old fabric (was my Mum's ) and found some great stuff. And then! A LARGE bag of pre-cut paper templates all hexagon shape. So I snaffled it all.
A chance lifting of a lid at my MIL's (where I was supposed to cleaning) led me to her fabric oddment stash - another two bulging carrier bags full.
And then it blossomed - it's not just a little itsy obsession. No, it's a full blown bells and whistles obsession. All I think about is hexagons, and sewing them together, and lovely quilts. I've not picked up my knitting needles in earnest for over a week now, that's how bad it's got.
Like I've got time to be obsessed with something else. What about my March socks..... What's a girl to do then?

Be afraid - be very afraid!!!
I have just cut out 100 paper and fabric hexagons to continue my Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt. It is as addictive as sock knitting - 'just one more hexagon and I will finish' is becoming a new mantra for me LOL

but hexagons are SO cute.....
and you can make the quilt-as-you-go for a little instant gratification.
or you can make them VERY small for a very small doll quilt
such versatile beasties....... _________________ Studio_christine

Oh My! You would have to be so accurate with that otherwise it would be a total mess!
I used to do a lot with hexagons - they are quite magical.
Good luck with your new obsession. loobyj _________________ Jacquie

LOL I so empathise looby, crafts are evil I tell you, evil. What's a girl to do? Knit at night and quilt during the day, that's all I can suggest. _________________
