I knitted Oriel from SKS last year for the Knitting World Cup:
There are more photos including details of the toe up heel flap construction here
I loved knitting these & became far more confident with lace. I discovered that I prefer toe up socks & love the heel flap as well. I plan to do more socks this way & have set myself a new challenge for the February pair.

Go for it Terri. They were fun to make & fit wonderfully. I love the toe up heel flap. I used a Turkish Cast On (link on my blog post linked to above) rather than the cast on supplied in the book & it's fab. Plus also found a great way of creating a really stretchy bind off so the cuff is comfortable & doesn't cut into your calf - details are also in the original bog post. _________________ Cheers
