|
|
I finished this sock and grafted it today. Emily is velvety soft to knit with but stretchy on the cuff. I think I would like to do the cuff in another yarn, or do the cuff differently. Any ideas? Up till now I liked a 2x2 twisted rib cuff. When I knit this as a 60 stitch cuff I could have put it on over my wellies. I reknit it using 52 stitches and it's fine, but the cuff is still very stretchy and I haven't actually worn it yet.
Second one to go for an April pair

Would reinforcement yarn added to the cuff make a difference??
Thanks _________________ " Onen i-Estel Edain, U-chebin estel anim"

I bought Emily in that colourway too! Don't know what to suggest for the rib. Guess it must be the angora, cos I think that's got very little 'memory'. _________________

It is a lovely colourway Mogiebear! Much more vivid in real light!

I like the lace in the pattern - makes the sock look very special.
What about knitting elastic in with the rib? _________________

I thought of that but read on Knitty that it is a nightmare to do. I'll see how they go, I may weave some in at the back of the stitches if they stretch too much.
