When I told my DH that I had joined the quilt-a-long he rolled his eyes and muttered something about another hobby  Laughing   Though he did say my snowdrop square was 'very nice'  Wink   Anyhoo we were in a lovely shop in Gran Caneria and they had some lovely quilts, and my DH really liked them so he decided to check out the price  Laughing  200euros, DH was shocked that they were so dear as he put it, so I now have permission to keep quilting  Very Happy  Laughing

My DH has a new knitted hat, and is just about to get his first pair of socks for his birthday.  Other than that, he doesn't mind that I knit, unless he's trying to talk to me when I'm counting (although he now recognisewhen I'm counting) or if it's the foundation row I can't get right.
With the foundation row I tend to mumble / swear if it's not going right, so he knows better than to talk to me at that point.

He knows that the items I make for other people are well received, and sometimes it would cost more to make a comparable item in the shops.
I also knit gifts for his Mum and daughter, so he appreciates that (as they do)

I can think of a lot of hobbies that cost more money, and lots that you don't really get a useable item at the end of the day.

Keep up the quilting Janice - it will probably keep him warm too Laughing

Linda

Quilting is something I would like to have a go at and do properly, when I have the time.

Luckily my family appreciate my knitting, especially the socks.

DH is great too and has never complained after a stashing spree.  He even suggested I go back when a local LYS was closing down to stock up.
