On our old little forum Knitting Connection we had a fantastic charity auction to coincide with National Knitting Week supporting Breast Cancer Awareness (hope I've got the details right here Confused) But anyhow it was one of the best things I've done on a forum Cool There were only about 12 of us members so it was very small but we raised quite a bit. Basically people donated yarn and crafty things such as stitchmarkers and we bid for them all of the proceeds going to our charity. Terri and I got in a bidding war for some rare Opal sock yarn Laughing Laughing and Debs had to find another lot to keep the peace Wink It was great fun and really exciting Cool

Anyway to cut to the chase - I just wondered if we could do it here maybe to coincide with the Race For Life or Breast Cancer Awareness later in the year or even both Laughing I would definitely be up for bidding and would dig in my stash for something to donate Wink

Excellent idea!

I didn't take part in the original event - can't remember why now, but definitely would if we did it again.

We had balls of sock wool, felted bag kits, stitchmarkers, sock kits from Anni - lots of affordable little bits but we can add other things I suppose for people who don't have lots of ready stash Cool

It was just such a laugh and it was just great thinking it was all going towards a good cause Cool

The reason I thought of it was I'm just knitting up the rare Opal I got then Laughing

I think it was actually the glitteriness we were fighting over rather than the rareness Laughing Laughing
