Sorry that title sounds gross doesn't it, however I need some guidance.
I had planned to knit the Hemlock Ring Blanket using Cascade 220 for DD's Christmas.  I've changed my mind now, but will still make a blanket but a different pattern.  I quite like the look of the Pinwheel Baby Blanket and probably use an aran or chunky weight yarn.  If I do so and I know this is a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" question but how much wool would I need to order?  500g?  How much would a good sized snuggle rug weigh?  Any ideas?

What diameter is your Doily Franney. That strikes me as a fairly cheap option, I was on the  Readicut site early - probably at your recommendation from an earlier thread!

I used 5 1/2 skeins of new Lanark aran for hemlock ring, which turned out 4 1/2 ft across blocked - it's a lovely size for a sofa cuddle!!   (according to Rav that's 968yds!)

That's exactly what I'm aiming for a sofa cuddle.
