When my ds2 was about 6 he used to like making bead animals like the ones in this book
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Geckos-Ot...28973-1903144?ie=UTF8&s=books

We bought them as kits, but I can't find a link to them in the UK.

They were quite easy to make and were done quickly and he would give them to friends to attach to their school back packs. They had key ring clips to attach them with.

They were also good because he got used to the idea of following instructions in a chart to make something. And he had to count out how many beads of what colour he needed so they were ejucashunal as well Very Happy
