nope, not socks this time Not knitting either!
This is for my new nephew who arrived a week ago, although I started it before I knew he was a he, hence the bright colours that would be OK for a girl or a boy. It's a basic crochet granny square, but I just kept going round and round, making it bigger and bigger. It's a tad, ahem, colourful, but hey - stimulating for a baby and the babysick won't show up on it
The centre is a ball of Lana Grossa Multiringel sock yarn, in colourway 5110, which was one that I got from Pictish in her sock yarn lucky dip a while back - thanks Ali! And the 3 purpley/red colours on the edging are sock yarn leftovers, so some stashbusting in there as well

Oooooh that's so neat!!! - and I agree being an Auntie is the best - 'cos you get to give them back when they're 1) noisy 2) snivelling 3) grumpy 4) dirty 5) tired ... or likewise when you are any of the above!!! _________________ Claire

| Its lovely, like the effect the self striping yarn has when crocheted, totally different to the knitted effect. |

Thank you everyone. Yeah, this is my fifth nephew/niece so I'm quite well-practised at the auntie thing. Getting them all worked up, overexcited, full of sweeties etc and then giving them back so my sister has to deal with it all is just great _________________

Ooo yes, that's the best sort of auntie to be! Lovely blanket. Do like the effect of the sock yarn going round and round.

I think it's lovely too - very stimulating colours for a baby, I'm sure it will be admired a lot.
